Slow-living art for slow-living beings
Roots
Hey there! My name is Serina Bowen. I spent the first 20 years of my life in the forests of Moon Mountain, 10 of which I practiced nature photography with the fellow birds, bugs and all matter of flora. Humble beginnings for a child with a camera and a love of the natural world. It is only fitting that a simple illustration of a moon and a mountain would emerge from a sigil of my name.
From here, I’d spend my life hopping from art form to art form, not choosing just one but settling on all of which pleased me. But I can never stray far from my roots in photography.
After growing out of nature photography, I grew into fine art, earning my BFA at Lesley University College of Art and Design.
I am now a product/food photographer and stylist, excited about the challenges this art form presents every day. But I continue to follow my curiosity, seeking the new, the strange and the yet-to-be fathomable.
So, please, peruse these pages and spend as long as you’d like. What you see is just a glimpse of what is in Bowen’s bones.
